This report describes the model that was developed to simulate different disease incursion scenarios & estimate the resulting regional economy effects across the western Darling Downs. The development of the model enables the exploration & evaluation of the strategic management options-such as increased surveillance & expanded containment or quarantine activities-available to Plant Health Australia & the Dept of Agric Fish & Forestry in the event of a karnal bunt incursion in Australia.
