In this report, commissioned by the GRDC, individual grain farms are ranked according to their productivity at a point in time using ABARE's unique farm level production & financial survey data. By combining this measure of farm productivity with ABARE's data on farm management practices,degradation & participation in training, the reasons for differences in farm level productivity can be investigated. The overall productivity of grain producers in the three main Australian grain growing regions is also compared.
