The main objective in this study is to provide indicative estimates of the impact of the adoption od new exploration & mining technologies in Australia's gold industry between 1980 & 2015. Gold is the major mineral sought in exploration, consistently accounting for at least half of private mineral exploration expenditure in Australia since 1986-87.
